Caleb Conrow, a senior at Rock Creek High School, recently joined the editorial team of the online newspaper, The Hoof Print. He has been in the Rock Creek school system since pre-school and is now preparing to graduate.
When asked what he likes to spend time doing he enjoys playing his guitar, working on his car, and spending time with his friends outdoors.
Almost everyone at Rock Creek can recognize Conrow when he rolls up in his burnt orange 1973 Corvette.
“So I got the car when I was in eighth grade. The guy said that the transmission was blown. And so I was thinking, I’ll just replace the transmission. Well, it turns out it just needed some transmission fluid and some lines hooked up. So basically, got a free Corvette out of that,” Conrow said.
To cap off some of the festivities in Caleb’s senior year he was fortunate enough to be nominated by his classmates as a homecoming candidate during the fall homecoming where he was ultimately crowned king along with classmate and Hoof Print staff member Ayla Klingenberg as queen.
“I was really happy to have my name called, and my family was very proud of me” Conrow said.
As a senior, the topic of continuing your education is something that comes up often and something that is on the mind of all seniors as they get closer to graduation.
“I plan on attending KSU and majoring in mechanical engineering,” Conrow said.
Conrow credits Rock Creek for helping to set him on the right track for the mechanical engineering field as he took physics last year and is currently taking AP Calculus accelerating towards his future and making great in that direction.
“Rock Creek was my home for several years but the time has finally come to move on and take the next big step in my life,” Conrow said.
