During the month of April, Rock Creek High School’s I.M. Writers group hosted a poetry contest, celebrating the creative voices of students. The contest culminated in the selection of four outstanding poems, with the following winners:
1st Place: Junior Briley Griffin, with her poem “Dear Mr. Rich”, earned a $25.00 Amazon gift card.
2nd Place: Sophomore Bailey Martens, with her poem “World of Mysteries”, won a $15.00 Wendy’s gift card.
3rd Place (tie): Junior Zion Bell, with his poem “The Third Brother”, and Sophomore Emma Pittenger, with her untitled poem, both received $10.00 Chick-fil-A gift cards.
The contest highlighted the talent and creativity of Rock Creek students, and the I.M. Writers group looks forward to hosting more events like this in the future. We will be posting the winning poems for everyone to enjoy next week.
