Mustangs are full of spirit this week getting ready for the highly anticipated homecoming football game this Friday night. With school spirit running high, students are showing off their spirit through themed dress-up days. Each day is assigned with a theme to build up excitement during the week.
“Decades Day has been my favorite so far,” senior Ezra Spiller said. “It’s been really fun to dress up.”
Spiller isn’t alone; many students have enjoyed the different daily themes. Another favorite was Dynamic Duos day which doubled the students’ fun in trying to select a stand out outfit.
“Brynna yesterday, her Napoleon Dynamite outfit was really funny, especially with the mustache,” freshman Reagan Adkins said.
Friday will bring a shift in the regular school schedule to make room for a full day of celebration and school pride. Students will follow a modified schedule leading up to the pep rally:
1S: 8:20 a.m. – 9:25 a.m.
3S: 9:30 a.m. – 10:35 a.m.
4S: 10:40 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
C.O.R.E: 11:50 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
From there, the afternoon transforms into a celebration:
Tailgate Setup: 12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Games & Lunch: 12:30 p.m. – 2:20 p.m.
Transition to Stadium: 2:30 p.m. – 2:35 p.m.
Pep Rally: 2:35 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Dismissal: 3:15 p.m.
But the excitement doesn’t end there. The community is invited to continue the celebration at the Community Pep Rally from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., giving students, staff, and families a chance to come together in support of the Mustangs.
“Everybody should be fully hyped and getting excited, there’s going to be a lot of involvement,” English teacher Mayci Armstrong said.
Rock Creek is more than ready to rally behind their team and make this homecoming one to remember.
