Rock Creek High School girl’s golf wrapped up their season this year. With a third place regional finish earning the team their first ever trip to state where they took 11th place overall in 4A. These girls had a great season, marking a milestone for the team and the program.
This team is on the rise as it continues to grow each year. Although this is only the second year of the girl’s golf program at Rock Creek, the players have made a name for themselves and are achieving great things.
Patrick Bramhall, is a Career and Technical Education teacher at Rock Creek teaching computer apps and marketing classes. He has a passion teaching, sports, and coaching, he currently leads the girl’s golf as head coach and is also the assistant baseball coach, and was a former assistant football coach.
“From building from last year into this year…we’ve seen so many strides, scores have gotten better, and the girls are continuing to get better every single day,” Bramhall said.
This year’s team had a strong mix of girls, most returning from last year but many new faces appeared on the golf course. One of the returners was senior Addy Reed, who understands that having a resilient mindset throughout the seasons has gained the girls’ confidence from the tee box to the final putt. However, along with their hard work and dedication, the team makes sure to keep things light.
“always prioritize having fun, because at the end, that’s really what matters,” Reed said.
Competing at the state level in their second year is evidence of their growth and determination, and has also set a strong foundation for future years in the program to come.
