During spring break, Rock Creek class of 2023 graduate, Allison (AJ) Moser participated in a journalism bootcamp in Washington, D.C. through the University of Kansas J-School program. The experience was hosted by the Center of Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a Washington-based policy research organization.
AJ worked alongside nine other KU students on a collaborative multimedia reporting project focused on a case-study analysis of Gender-Based Violence policy in Italy and Mexico. Students were divided into specialty teams including video, podcasting, data visualization, and story/web design.
AJ served on the story/web design team. In that role, she interviewed subject-matter experts in a press briefing format, participated in editorial meetings, and contributed to the development of the final narrative. The project concluded with the team presenting their work to CSIS board. After an additional month of edits you can now view their published project here: On the Heels of Change — CSIS Feature Story
