Dear Rocky,
Hey! I am finding a hard time finding balance between homelife and school life, it feels like the school work is never ending and I can’t catch a break! I get home and have a pile of assignments I need to do, but I can’t find the motivation to do it, ending in me being behind for the next day. Is there any way to get over this mental road block? Or any advice on how to stay motivated enough to get the assignments done?
All the best,
Already Burnt Out
Dear Already Burnt Out,
Heya! I’m so glad you brought this up. This is an important issue that a lot of students like yourself experience regularly.
My advice would be to just enjoy your life. I know this sounds off topic, but I think if you enjoy the life you’re living then those challenges and mental road blocks would not be so unbearable.
During times when you’re in school and other places that are draining and all together not fun to be in; finding the little things can make the whole difference in your day and make you more motivated to do homework.
“But what if I’m tired or I’m not having a good day”. Excellent Point! First, I would recommend rest, especially after school and or your extracurricular activities. Then I would make the time spent doing homework super fun.
Put on a movie, get a fun drink and snack, make a homework playlist and JAM OUT!
Let’s be real, homework is not fun and especially after a long day of school UGH forget about it, but homework sadly still exists but making it fun and even making it a little more enjoyable can make the time spent doing homework slightly less boring.
Just remember to take one day at a time, don’t procrastinate as much as you can manage, and get lots of rest.
With Love,
Rocky
