Dear Rocky,
I hope you’re having a great day! I am 14 and I’m about to take my driver portion of my driving test and I’m scared about it. Is it hard to park in the parking lot? Is it stressful getting out of the parking lot?
Sincerely,
Scared and Nervous
Dear Scared and Nervous,
The start to my day has been great. Thank you for asking. I know taking your drivers test can be really scary, but it’s totally worth it in the end. When first driving you may second guess yourself, but it’s important to realize you are still learning and WILL make mistakes. If you relax you will realize it’s totally okay to not be perfect in the beginning as long as you’re trying your best.
There can be many scary aspects besides just driving, such as the parking situation. Yes, the parking can be a little challenging at first but will be easy after your first day. Everyone is super understanding and will give you the time you need to park. My recommendation is your first week driving to school, try and arrive a little early. This will give you the much needed time and space to get your parking spot. However, don’t worry if your parking isn’t great at first.
When I first started to drive, leaving the school was my most scared thought of driving to school. At first I just waited a little bit until the rush had slowed down, but soon realized it wasn’t scary. Yes I know it may seem super chaotic and overwhelming, however, it gets easier with time.
I wish you the best of luck on your test. Remember you are still learning and that’s what matters the most.
With Love,
Rocky
