Dear Rocky,
I hope your day is going well, unlike mine. I was wondering if you knew how to keep up on schoolwork. I have been missing school a lot lately, so I am super behind on all my work and my grades are slipping!
Best Regards,
Schoolwork Sally
Dear Sally,
Thank you for asking how my day is, it is going well. I understand the feeling of missing school and feeling like you’re behind, especially in the spring. This week I will have also missed two days due to school activities. The main thing you can do when you miss is DON’T be stressed and communicate with your teachers. They are busy too. We are all busy. So, all you can do is try your hardest to get it made up as soon as you can and work with your teacher.
Another thing you can try, is to take time out of your weekend to get it done. This would be a perfect weekend since you have a three day weekend. I know it’s not fun to spend time over the weekend working on school but it will be worth it. I recommend doing it early in the weekend so you aren’t stressed the rest of the time.
For me, I will be watching the Kentucky Derby on Saturday (a.k.a. the most exciting two minutes of sports) around 5:30ish, so I will be doing my homework Saturday morning as to not miss a second of that race! I will be cheering on Journalism for a second year in a row.
Just keep in mind it’s okay to take breaks and do the work at separate times. Taking small breaks helps you to not get overwhelmed. Don’t feel like you need to rush to complete your work. Take your time and pace yourself and it will help make a smooth transition into the week.
It’s a good thing to remember that summer is coming so soon. Try your best for the last bit of school to finish strong. Then you can have a homework free this summer. I hope you can get caught up soon.
Best of luck,
Rocky
