With comments from the community, Jim Brinkman discussed wanting to add educational opportunities for students to learn about retirement. In hopes of bringing retirement plans to an early stage will help students later in life. He hopes to bring to attention the expenses of wanting to retire, and planning early in life is important.
Both principals from the middle school and high school shared the recent KTOY visitors. Both thought this was an amazing opportunity to share with others what makes Rock Creek so special. The principles emphasized some of the clubs/activities that are doing good for students and the community.
Last on the list discussions for the board was a new graduation policy. This new policy would impact this year’s juniors and all future graduating classes. A new requirement was discussed that would allow all online students to also walk at graduation. The discussion was split, some not wanting to allow this, while others think this is a more inclusive choice. More discussions will be had about this topic.
Then the board held their executive meeting.
The next meeting is scheduled for January 12th at 7:00 p.m. and will be held at the District Office.
