Every Mustang Matters, a student-led organization that seeks to promote mental health awareness and suicide prevention at Rock Creek High School, brought warmth, connection, and smiles to campus this morning before school during its Hot Chocolate Giveaway. The club served more than 200 cups of hot chocolate to students and staff as a way to promote joy, rest, and overall well-being within the Mustang community.

In addition to the treat, students were invited to take part in an interactive sticky note activity, sharing what brings them joy and helps them recharge. The display quickly filled with thoughtful and uplifting responses, highlighting the importance of taking time to reflect and care for oneself during this busy holiday season and week of finals. 

Every Mustang Matters extends a sincere thank you to staff and students for their support, patience, and flexibility as participants helped clean up following the event. The cooperation and positive energy reflects the strong sense of community at Rock Creek High School.

While watching the students participate this morning, sponsor Jenette Follmer was filled with pride for her students who stepped up to run the event and the positive interactions she witnessed in our school community.
