As we reach the midpoint of the year, The Hoof Print would like to take a moment to reflect on the beginning of the 2025 school year, by highlighting some of the events and accomplishments that have taken place.
August 2025
- On back to school night, students gathered to receive their schedules and meet their teachers for the upcoming academic year. Freshmen were introduced to their new classes and expressed enthusiasm for the year ahead.
- Rock Creek High School officially welcomed students for the 2025-2026 school year on August 14, 2025.
- The Rock Creek Volleyball team participated in their first tournaments: Varsity at Wabaunsee High School and freshmen/JV were at Wamego.
- Sophomore English teacher Jenette Follmer received the Fulbright Teacher Exchange Award from the U.S. Department of State.
September 2025
- The varsity golf team traveled to Concordia, where they finished 2nd overall, with Makenna Wallace earning 2nd place individually.
- Football opened their season with a decisive 51-0 victory against Bishop Ward.
- Robotics activities began at Wichita State University.
- Homecoming Week festivities started with the annual tailgate event, followed by a pep rally on the football field. Seniors Peter Martinie and Sophie Wilds were crowned king and queen. After defeating Bonner Springs 68-0, students gathered in the auxiliary gym for the homecoming dance.
- The cross country team competed at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, with the boys finishing 9th overall; Liam Johnston placed 21st and Livia Nippert placed 24th individually.
October 2025

- Band placed 2nd over-all at the KSU Marching Band Festival.
- Band placed 2nd over-all in at the Baker University Marching Band Festival.
- The cheer team hosted their annual cheer clinic night showcasing 101 young girls who are interested in cheer.
- Band placed 8th at the KBA Marching Festival.
- 16 senior football players were recognised at the annual senior night this year against Concordia.
- The annual fall Jazz band and choir concert was held in he commons area of the high school.
- Volleyball hosted substate this year defeating Baldwin (25-12 & 25-14).
- Volleyball headed to Hutchinson for the state tournament, they went 1-2 in pool play winning over Bishop Miege and losing to Paola and Andale, placing them as the second seed.
November 2025
- Boys cross country placed 9th overall with sophomore Liam Jonston placing 13th overall.
- Football hosted regionals and played against Hesston winning 17-13.
- Rock Creek performed their 2025-26 Fall Musical, Spongebob the Musical.
- Football hosted the 2025 season Sectional Championship, winning a defensive battle against Cheney with a score of 14-7.
- Rock Creek competed at the annual cheer and dance Showcase in Topeka.
December 2025
- HS Boys/Girls Basketball (Varsity/Jv) @ Jeff County North – The Varsity boys started their season off hot, dominating in a blowout win, outscoring them 74 – 23, and the Girls varsity won in a 65 – 28 victory.
- On Dec 11 HS Boys/Girls Wrestling Home Dual Boys lost 30-47 to Chapman Girls lost 18-54.
- HS Boys/Girls Basketball VS Sabetha V.Boys.68-47 V. Girls 63- 25 .
- HS Boys/Girls Varsity Wrestling @ Sabetha Tournament Girls went 4-0 and took first at Sabetha. Joee Perkins, Liliauna Nold, Ali Wilcoxson, Megan Ryan, Claire Steeves, and Koda Moeller won their weight class individual champs. Boys went 2-3 with Braxton Roberts and Wade Rottinghaus picking up first place.
- Choir had the annual Christmas concert held in the high school commons with Santa (aka Tim Rieck) making a surprise appearance.
- Varsity girls basketball picked up a 65-52 win and the varsity boys picked up a dominating win 60-24 at Marysville.
- The first annual Flurry on Flush Tournament was held varsity girls lost to Hays in the 3rd place game but the boys won 56-32 defeating Hays in the tournament champtionship taking 1st.
- Prior to winter break the Mustangs varsity boys wrestling at the Hillsboro Tournament, boys defeated both Hillsboro and West Elk in 2 dominating wins, but later fell to Clearwater.
