The Rock Creek Board of Education approved the transfer of middle school Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Sam Pahls to serve as interim principal of Rock Creek High School during its meeting on Monday February 9.
According to an email from Superintendent Steven Spichal, Pahls will officially assume the role beginning Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, and will serve through the end of the current school year. High school operations will continue as they have since the start of the second semester.
At the middle school level, Superintendent Spichal and Asst. Superintendent Kristi Timm will transition to supporting Principal Rachel Buessing and the middle school staff for the remainder of the school year. District leaders plan to meet within the next two weeks to assess needs and determine how best to provide support.
